Christmas Event

We are once lost, abandoned and forgotten.

The feeling of being alone was not uncommon.

“Am I needed?” A question that ricochets.

Every reason seems like fading away.

But then there is a shining light of hope.

It’s blinding but giving us something to cope.

We are welcomed with open arms.

And for the first time we feel some warmth.

They gave our steps a learning path.

Held on to our dreams and have our backs.

They gave chance to explore our city.

And all activities to make our future lives so pretty.

We build confidence, camaraderie and self-worth along the way.

We now look forward to another learning in each new day.

Heavy feelings are now lesser to weigh.

We are now found, cherished and remembered.

You put a smile that cannot be measured.

And all these we will truly forever treasure.
