Most of OrFA’s US volunteers are currently based around Boston, Massachusetts, and the New York City area. We are looking for young professionals who are willing to commit at least 1 year to the organization. The following positions are available below:

Graphic Designer

We are looking for a self-motivated and creative volunteer to work with our marketing team to develop graphics for various projects. The candidate would be working remotely with a team located around the country. Tasks include:

•     Create infographics, marketing-related materials, and collateral materials
•     Collaborate closely with marketing, operations, event planning, and possibly web design team
•     Must have proficiency in Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign (familiarity with HTML a plus but not required) 

Grant Writer

The proposal writers are responsible for absorbing the strategy, intelligence, RFP requirements, annotated outline, and collected data, and integrating these into finished text and figures. They use writing aids (e.g., storyboards, annotated page mockups) to streamline the process. Writers are typically assigned following draft RFP receipt, but writers of critical sections may be assigned earlier. Responsibilities include:

• Research grant opportunities and propose to the executive committee
• Review/understand the capture plan
• Review/understand all applicable RFP requirements
• Perform research, analysis, and data collection needed to prepare text and figures
• Comply with the annotated outline for the writing assignment
• Prepare/use writing aids (e.g., storyboards, annotated page mockups) and ensure these are approved by the volume leader prior to actual writing
• Develop section-specific themes, text, and figures (e.g., tables, graphs, photos)
• Prepare the write-up and update it following reviews
• Provide daily status to the team lead

Social Media Marketing

We are looking for a bright, creative, and self-motivated individual to help OrFA with our social media marketing by working with our Social Media Marketing Analyst to manage our Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Pinterest, and Google+ Accounts. This job would entail finding content such as news articles related to orphans and other appropriate material as deemed by the Marketing Manager to post on our social media sites as well as writing concise and compelling statements and posting pictures as well. This job can be done remotely and would require 5-10 hours per week. We are looking for an individual who can post new content every few days onto our accounts.

General Volunteers

If you are passionate about volunteering in any capacity, then a general volunteer might be the right position for you. We are looking for a self-starter that can take on any task that needs to be done.
