We are looking for volunteers to contribute to a growing international not-for-profit organization filled with self motivated and passionate working professionals who contribute their free time to sponsor educational funding for orphans in Southeast Asia.


We are a volunteer-based organization with volunteers working remotely via our various work platforms (Google and Podio). Volunteers must be self starters, professional and willing to put in the time and hard work as our volunteers are the backbone of Orphans’ Futures Alliance. In return, we aim to help our volunteers develop valuable skill sets that can translate into the working world. Volunteers must be passionate, high-energy, adaptable, and have a strong commitment for the mission of Orphans’ Futures Alliance.

Internships can be done for university credit and/or resume experience, and is paid with one’s own gratifying feelings of helping create an opportunity for orphans in Southeast Asia. Internships are for college students or post college graduates. Internships for high school students by recommendation and additional review.

OPEN POSITIONS


 MARKETING | Graphic Design Intern

We are looking for a self motivated and creative intern to work with our marketing team to develop graphic for various functions within the organization. This position would be working remotely with a team located around the country.

Responsibilities

  • Creating slides and layouts for corporate pitches
  • Market and promote OrFA events so public understands how they can help
  • Create infographics, mocks, training materials, and collateral materials
  • Establish OrFA brand
  • Collaborate closely with marketing, operations, event planning, and possibly web design team

Qualifications

  • 3-5 portfolio pieces (provide link to portfolio or attach samples to email)
  • Currently studying towards a BFA in Graphic Design or has a recent BFA design degree
  • Willingness to learn and be a team player
  • Proficiency in Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign (familiarity with HTML a plus but not required)
  • Ability to articulate your design decisions
  • Exhibits an understanding of typography, color usage, and layout
  • Takes ownership of projects
  • Detail oriented with great organization skills
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and deliver work on time
  • Thoughtful, intelligent and self motivated. Willing to take risk and step out of the box

 MARKETING | Social Media Intern

We are looking for a bright, creative and self-motivated individual to help OrFa with our social media marketing by working with our Social Media Marketing Analyst to manage our Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Pinterest, and Google+ Accounts. This job would entail finding content such as news articles related to orphans and other appropriate material as deemed by the marketing manager to post on our social media sites as well as writing concise and compelling statements and posting pictures as well. This job can be done remotely and would require 5-10 hours per week. We are looking for an individual who is able to post new content every few days onto our accounts.

 MARKETING | Blogger

Looking for a creative individual who can write ½ page blog every two weeks about OrFA or other relevant information as related to orphans and other appropriate material as deemed by the marketing manager to post on our blog. These can even highlight information that has been posted on Facebook as well. Blogs should also help to highlight upcoming OrFa events. This individual should be able to dedicate 5-10 hours per week to researching new material and writing blog material.

  • Good communicator
  • Self Starter
  • Good grammar and written skills
  • Editing background
  • Major in English, Writing, Communications, or Journalism preferred

 


 EVENT PLANNING/FUNDRAISING | Event Intern

This is your chance to work toward creating an opportunity to better lives of orphans in Southeast Asia. The event internship is designed to provide a well-rounded and practical hands-on educational experience for the student.

Responsibilities

  • Assist team with the overall planning and management of fundraising events
  • Responsible for pre-event, event and post-event planning and implementation of assigned activities/events
  • Work with volunteer Event Associates to identify, recruit and train volunteers.
  • Coordinate with team, production staff, volunteers, vendors and community partners on all aspects of event implementation.
  • Assist with the management of vendor partnerships including the solicitation and confirmation of space, payment, special requirements, communication materials, load-in/out schedule, permits as needed, and site walk through.
  • Assist with the identification and procurement of permits, as needed.
  • Assist with the identification, solicitation and procurement of in-kind goods and services.
  • Coordinate additional one-time events and volunteer events as assigned.
  • Assist with cultivating, maintaining and expanding relationships with in-kind partners and vendors
  • Attend internal event team meetings, site visits and event related meetings as assigned by the executive team
  • All other duties approved by supervisor

Qualifications

  • Must be based in the NY city area with access to meetings and events in Manhattan.
  • Must be able to work remotely
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills; ability to manage multiple and concurrent projects.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision. Innovative and self-motivated.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization, especially volunteers and vendors.

 EXECUTIVE TEAM | Volunteer Coordinator

Volunteer coordinators are responsible for recruiting and managing groups of volunteers, as well as individual members of a volunteer organization. Candidate must have strong communication and management skills, since they must work with many different kinds of people.

Responsibilities

  • Match interested volunteers with an opportunity that suits their skill set and serves the organization.
  • Ensure that individual volunteers feel comfortable with their placements and fully understand their responsibilities.\
  • Coordinators conduct preliminary interviews to determine the roles that volunteers will take and make recommendation to the appropriate manager.
  • Serves as a point of contact for all volunteers regarding administrative human resource functions and address volunteers concerns
  • Lead on-the-job training or conduct informational sessions prior to volunteer events
  • Maintain communication with existing volunteers via team building events, informative e-mails and newsletters to keep volunteers abreast of happenings within the organization, including additional ways to participate.

 EXECUTIVE TEAM | Executive Team Assistant

The position requires working closely with the executive team members to assist with the daily management of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Performs administrative and office support activities for multiple supervisors on the executive team.
  • Assists each executive member and coordinates among various teams on assigned tasks
  • Duties may include fielding telephone calls, managing the calendar, word processing, creating spreadsheets and presentations, and filing. Extensive software skills are required, as well as
  • Internet research abilities and strong communication skills.

  • Assistants will work remotely for majority of the time

 


 ADMINISTRATIVE TEAM | Project Volunteer

This position is a general volunteering position that assist OrFA on a project based capacity whether day of assistance for major events or short term projects.

Qualifications

  • Needs to be a self starter
  • Basic excel skills
  • Good Communication skills
  • Minimum junior in college
  • Volunteer working on short term project will work remotely for majority of the time
  • Volunteer working day of event will need to be available to attend those events in New York City.

 


 TECHNOLOGY TEAM | Technology Team Assistant

This position will be assisting the CIO and the Cloud Architect maintain OrFA various technology platforms.

Responsibilities

  • WordPress: create new users, manage access levels, reset passwords
  • Gmail: create new users, manage access levels, reset passwords
  • YouTube: manage uploads
  • Google Adwords: monitor ad campaigns

Qualifications

  • Be familiar with the administrative functions of WordPress, Gmail, Youtube and Google Adwords.
  • Needs to be a self starter
  • Must be able to work remotely
